You can’t have a happy holiday without easy and #pinaSARAP Christmas desserts. December is the perfect time to indulge in decadent treats. After all, it’s the most delicious and wonderful time of the year.
Here are two of our favorite easy Christmas dessert recipes:
Peach Crumble à la Mode
Want pie but not in the mood for the tedious prep? Make this peach crumble instead! It has a decadent buttery topping and is best served with a scoop of ice cream.
Ingredients:
- 1 can Mega Prime Peach Halves Regular In Heavy Syrup, drained
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon grated lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- ½ cup butter, melted
- Vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 190°C. Place the drained Mega Prime Peach Halves in a greased medium-sized oven-proof baking dish. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, lemon zest and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the peaches.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, white sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir in the lightly beaten egg until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the peaches. Pour melted butter over the topping.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes and serve with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
Peach Panna Cotta
Let this no-bake dessert finish off a heavy Noche Buena meal. Enjoy its rich and creamy texture balanced by the pulpy sweetness of the peaches.
Ingredients:
For the peach gelatin layer:
- 1 can Mega Prime Peach Halves Regular In Heavy Syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 pack unflavored gelatin
For the milk gelatin layer:
- 1 pack unflavored gelatin
- ½ cup cold milk
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping:
- Fresh mint leaves
Instructions:
- Drain Mega Prime Peach Halves and save the syrup. Save 2 peach halves and set them aside for the topping and place the rest in a food processor with lemon juice. Cover and process until smooth.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, sprinkle gelatin over the peach syrup. Let stand for 1 minute. Microwave for 35 seconds and stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Let stand for 5 minutes and stir in the pureed peach mixture. Pour into glass dessert cups and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
- In a small saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over milk and let stand for 1 minute. Over low heat, stir continuously until gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in heavy cream, sugar, lemon zest, salt and vanilla. Pour over the peach gelatin layer and refrigerate until set.
- Slice the saved peach halves thinly. Take the Panna Cotta out of the fridge and garnish with peach slices and mint leaves. Enjoy!
